LOS ANGELES — Esther Williams, the swimming champion turned actress who starred in glittering and aquatic Technicolor musicals of the 1940s and ’50s, has died. She was 91.

NASCAR Nationwide Series Coors Light Pole Award Winner Austin Dillon – Photo Credit: Jared C. Tilton/Getty Images for NASCARFor the third consecutive NASCAR Nationwide Series race weekend, Austin Dillon claims the pole, as he did today with a qualifying lap speed of 136.737 mph, to capture the 2013 DuPont Pioneer 250 Coors Light Pole Award at Iowa Speedway.
This was Dillon’s third series pole of the 2013 season, his sixth series career pole and his first series pole at Iowa Speedway.
Starting second with a qualifying lap speed of 135.834 mph, will be Sam Hornish, Jr., while Brian Scott (135.811 mph) starts from third, Brian Vickers (135.735) fourth and the current series points leader, Regan Smith (135.595) starts fifth.
Rounding out the top-ten starting positions will be Joey Logano (135.484 mph) starting from sixth, Elliott Sadler (135.420) seventh, Travis Pastrana (135.408) eighth, Drew Herring (135.274) ninth and series Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender, Kyle Larson (135.205) will start from the tenth position.
Failing to make the starting lineup was Morgan Shepherd driver of the #89.
Weather permitting, the DuPont Pioneer 250 is slated to get started around 8:20 pm (ET) this evening, and ESPN will provide television coverage beginning with their 7:30 pm (ET) pre-race show.
